In Loving Memory of Virleen Townsend
Virleen Townsend, born on August 25, 1940, was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and a woman whose greatest joy in life was her family.
Virleen was a homemaker and worked in the hosiery and furniture industries throughout her life. But her most important role was that of a mother and grandmother. She devoted her heart to the people she loved and found meaning in being surrounded by her family. Her love, kindness, strength, and the memories she created with those closest to her will remain in their hearts forever.
Virleen is survived by her children, Teresa and Randy Gray, Darrell Townsend, Randy Townsend, and Tammy and Eddie Smith.
She leaves behind grandchildren who will forever carry her memory in their hearts: Jacob and Brittany Townsend, Megan and Dale Murphy, Justin and Gwen Ward, Hayley Townsend, Faith Townsend, Mathew and Logan Smith, and Travis Smith.
She was also a cherished great-grandmother to Maggie Murphy, Emma Townsend, Jason Townsend, Walker Ward, Ryleigh Ward, and Caroline Smith.
Virleen was preceded in death by her husband, Chester Townsend, her parents, Fred and Lula Hudson; her sister, Jean Anaus; and her brother, Larry Hudson.
Those who knew Virleen will remember most of all how deeply she loved her family. She gave them a lifetime of memories, love, and moments that will never be forgotten. Though her absence leaves a place in their hearts that can never be filled, her love will continue through every child, grandchild, and great-grandchild she leaves behind.
Her family will hold onto the memories of her smile, her love, and the moments they shared together. Every family gathering, every story told, and every memory made will serve as a reminder of the wonderful woman she was.
Virleen may no longer be here to hold her family close, but the love she gave them will never leave. Her legacy lives on in the family she loved so dearly.
Forever loved.
Forever missed.
Forever remembered.
And forever a part of the family she loved with all her heart.
