Susan "Sioux" Denlinger Obituary

Prayerful, caring mother of Zachary Denlinger and Lyndsey (Mike) Lindhurst

Daughter of the late Jack and Betty Holtz

Sister of Bill Holtz, Jacquelyn (Kurt) VonEsh, Geoff (Michelle) Holtz and Paul (Lori) Holtz

Cherished Grandmother of Jack and Leo

Sioux had a smile that could light up a room.  Many people throughout her life wanted nothing more than to make her smile.  She cared deeply, prayed without ceasing and loved Jesus.

One of her greatest joys was spending time with her grandsons. Crafting, watching them dig in her back patio sandbox and seeing them play all their sports, were her favorite pastimes.  She enjoyed time with friends in her Bible Studies and their time together out sharing meals and laughter.

Animals were drawn to her and I wish I knew her secret to healthy houseplants; hers were always thriving.

She was more artistic, more beautiful, more intelligent and more worthy than she believed.

Sioux understood pain and heartache.  When life was brutal and unfair, she provided a listening ear and would carry any burden for you.  Her prayers moved obstacles and helped heal in ways I can only call miraculous.  Her compassionate nature helped her son get through the hardest times of his life; especially during the worst of his illness.  She had a calming presence and a huge void will be felt in her absence.

While our hearts ache with the loss of our mother, we find comfort in knowing she has gone home to our Creator.  She strived to live and love like Jesus and shared with her children from a young age the truth of God's love for them.  We rejoice knowing she is now experiencing the fullness of the love, peace and belonging she always longed for.  She is finally Home. I pray she is raising both of her arms high above her head in praise for our Heavenly Father's amazing love; and as I write this I can see her smiling and dancing with her father.
