Susan (Dehorty) Woods

Susan Dehorty Woods, age 78, passed away peacefully on May 25, 2026.

Born on May 15, 1948, in Wilmington, DE Susan was the daughter of George F. Dehorty and Anna Margaret Walls. From an early age, she was known for her caring nature and dedication
to helping others.

Susan began her working life as a nurse's aide and house cleaner, careers that reflected her compassionate spirit and strong work ethic. She found joy in serving others and building
meaningful relationships throughout her life.
Family was at the center of Susan's world. She cherished spending time with her loved ones and creating lasting memories with family and friends. One of her favorite pastimes was going to yard sales with her husband, Kelly Woods. Susan was also a devoted churchgoer whose faith remained an important part of her life.

Susan was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Kelly Woods; her brother, Ken; her grandbaby, Junior; and many other cherished family members and friends.

She is survived by her sons, Kelly Woods Jr. (Tobi) and Jason Woods (Emily); her daughter, Rebecca Woods (J.R.); her grandchildren, Kelly, Brandon, Tyler, Coner, Westen, Addyson, and Krystal; and her great-grandchildren, Torynn, Levi, Harper, Camden, and Kolter. She also leaves behind many extended family members and friends who will miss her dearly.

Susan will be remembered for her kindness, generosity, unwavering love for her family, and the warmth she shared with everyone she met. Her legacy of compassion and devotion will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.

Services will be private at this time.
