Sheila (Cox) Watson

Sheila Cox Watson, 68, of Deep Gap, NC went to her heavenly home on July 30, 2026.

Sheila was born in Watauga County and preceded in death by her parents Lloyd L. Cox and Betty J. Wood.

Left to cherish her memory is the father of her children, best friend, and partner, James Watson. They had a decades long bond that most can only hope for in life. She is also survived by her daughter, Natalie Watson; her son, Nicholas Watson (Irene); her brothers, Tony Cox (Rhonda) and Chris Cox; and nephews, Justin, Wesley, and Cameron.

Sheila was the happiest surrounded by her family, laughing, and just enjoying time together. She loved fresh flowers, new shoes, and any little trinket or treasure she found. She was full of pride for Nicholas and Natalie and loved celebrating their accomplishments. They will hold those memories close and continue to try to make their mother proud.

A private celebration of life will be held at a later date. 

The family requests that instead of flowers, a donation be made to the Watauga Humane Society in honor of her beloved cat and companion, Nibbles.
