Samuel Beasley II Obituary

Samuel Fay Beasley II, known as i-Fry to most, 65, of Boone, North Carolina passed away peacefully at the beach on July 3rd, 2026, after a courageous battle with cancer.

Born in Fairbanks, Alaska, Sam spent his childhood growing up in Fayetteville, North Carolina before making Boone his home as an adult. He built a remarkable career as a chef in the High Country, where his passion and talent in the kitchen earned him the title of champion in the Fire on the Rock cooking competition. Cooking was so much more than a profession to Sam- it was an expression of his creativity and way to show his love.

Outside of the kitchen, Sam lived life with a reckless and adventurous spirit. He found joy in skateboarding, snowboarding, rock climbing, surfing, fishing and being surrounded by friends and family. Some of his fondest memories were from his trips out West for snowboarding, Bahamas and Costa Rica for surfing and summer beach trips with his family. Whether exploring the world or simply conversing with loved ones, he embraced every opportunity to experience life to the absolute fullest.

Above all else, Sam will be remembered for the person he was. He had a truly selfless heart and never hesitated to help someone in need. His kindness, generosity, and unwavering compassion touched countless lives. He had an incredible sense of humor that could brighten even the darkest days, and his laughter and endless stories will be deeply missed by everyone who knew him.

He is preceded in death by his father Samuel Beasley.

Sam leaves behind his Mother, Connie Swan Beasley, his two little siblings Pam McCaa (John) and Cameron Beasley, dog (Milo) and his two babygirls who he adored more than anything, Olivia and Kira Beasley. He is also leaving many dear friends (Fish Camp) who will forever cherish the memories they shared with him. His legacy of love, kindness, strength, and adventure will continue to live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know him. He was one of a kind.

The family is grateful for the love, prayers, and support they have received during this difficult time.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, July 8, 2026 from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM with the Funeral Service at 2:00 PM.  Burial will follow at Mount Lawn Cemetery in Boone, NC
