Michael Miller

Michael Ernest Miller, 72, of Zionville, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on July 12, 2026.

Michael was born on June 21, 1954, in Boone, North Carolina, to the late Ernest Miller and Wilma Eggers.

Michael had a love for cars and racing - he enjoyed “tinkering”  on vehicles and never missed the excitement of Saturday and Sunday races. Any chance to take a ride, especially to West Jefferson, Wilkesboro or Johnson City with family, was a joy for Michael. He loved watching MTV music videos, finding enjoyment in both the music and memories they brought. When he wasn’t enjoying a race, going for a ride, or spending time with family, he was devoted to taking care of his cats.

In addition to his parents, Michael was preceded in death by his brothers, Gregory Miller and Geoff Miller. He is survived by his stepmother Darline Miller of Vilas, stepsister Barbara Hagaman of Vilas, sister in law Ciss Welch of Marietta, GA, nephews Eric Miller of Boone, Adam Miller (Kim) of Hickory, nieces Ashlee Sasser (Holt) of Holly Ridge, NC and Georgie Miller (Trenton) of Boone, IA.

Those who knew Michael will remember his easygoing nature, good listening ear, kind soul, and the simple pleasures that made him happiest.

He will be dearly missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. His memory will live on through the stories shared, the lives he touched, and the moments of laughter he brought to others.

Graveside services will be held Friday, July 17th at 3pm, at Bethel Cemetery
