Masakatsu Thomas Nakagawa

Masakatsu Thomas Nakagawa, 80, of 875 Hanks Street, Traphill, NC died on Thursday, May 15, 2025 at his home.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years Gina (Becker) Nakagawa, 79, a daughter, Miko,  two grandsons, and several nieces.

He came to the United States in 1970 and studied art at the New England School of Art and Design in Boston, MA. He held positions in the field of graphic design for several large companies in New England and Later in North Carolina and Georgia returning to North Carolina after his retirement.

He was a devoted member of Epiphany Catholic Church in Blowing Rock, NC where he attended the Mass of the Council of Trent and assisted in religious education classes at St. Elizabeth of the Hill Country in Boone.

In  his leisure time he was an avid tennis player, reader and lover of concert music.

A funeral Mass will be held at Epiphany Catholic Church. Blowing Rock on Friday, June13, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. Afterwards he will be interred in the Columbarium at St. Elizabeth of the Hill Country.
