Kenny Lane Greer

Kenny Lane Greer age 73, of Iredell County, passed away peacefully on June 21, 2025.

Born on July 26, 1951, in Watauga County, North Carolina, Kenny was the son of the late Lane Ray Greer and Peggy Faulkenbury Greer. He dedicated more than 40 years of his life to a career in truck driving, and proudly served in the National Guard for seven years.

A true outdoors man, Kenny found joy in nature. He especially loved hunting with his son, grandsons, and friends, fishing, and riding trails on his four-wheeler. When not outdoors, Kenny could often be found watching NASCAR or enjoying a meal at the Burger Barn in Harmony, NC.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lane and Peggy Greer; a stepdaughter; a step-grandchild; and his grandparents, Raleigh and Rosa Greer.

Left to cherish his memory are his devoted wife of 40 years, Virginia J. Greer; his son, Eric L. Greer and wife Jennifer; two grandsons, Jacob L. Greer and Hunter E. Greer; his great-granddaughter, Paisley A. Greer; two stepdaughters; and four step-grandchildren, all of Boone, NC.

Kenny will be remembered for his love of family, the outdoors, and the simple pleasures of life. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Visitation will be held on Sunday June 29, 2025 at the Austin & Barnes Chapel from 3:00 PM - 5:00 PM. Graveside Services will be held on Monday June 30, 2025 at Rutherwood Cemetery at 1 PM with Military Honors. Pastor Mike Townsend will be officiating the service.
