Jo Ann (Wilson) Scott

Jo Ann Wilson Scott passed away on May 31, 2026. She was 85 years old.  She was born on October 18,1940 to Joseph and Hazel Robinson Wilson in Watauga County NC. 

She earned an associate’s degree in business administration and was a certified Executive Chef through the Presidio.  She worked at East Tennessee State University as an Executive Chef for ETSU Food Service.  She was a member of Beaver Dam Baptist Church.  Jo Ann enjoyed gardening and working with Meals on Wheels.  

She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Elmar Scott and her parents. 

Jo Ann will be dearly missed by her brother, Robert Wilson and her daughters who will cherish her memory, Theresa Scott and Lesia Gregory.  She adored her only granddaughter, Abby Gregory.  

The family will receive friends on Thursday, June 4, 2026, from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM at Austin & Barnes Funeral Home and Crematory followed by the Funeral Service starting at 11:30 AM with Pastor Mike Townsend officiating.  Jo Ann will be laid to rest at the Lower Beaver Dam Cemetery in Vilas.  Burial will be private.
