Grace Shannon Harrison

Shannon Grace Harrison, (Grace), age 54, of Asheville, NC passed away on Thursday, August 1, 2024 in hospice care at the Center for Living and Dying in Swannanoa, NC.

She was born October 15, 1969 to Sindy H. Norris in Berkeley, CA. Her step-dad Larry Norris of Boone, NC, after marrying her mother in 1982, he was her father who cared for her until the end.

Grace also leaves behind her daughter, Jasmine Figlow (Rian); three grandchildren, Judah, Emmett and Juliana; sister, Miranda Early of Sarasota, FL; brother, Seth Norris (Staci) of Deep Gap, NC and nieces; Lyla, Aliyah and Selah; nephews, William and Parker Norris; Aunt Susan and Uncle Willy Barrineau of Flat Rock, NC; cousin Chad Barrineau of Asheville, NC; many close friends as well.

Grace graduated from Watauga High School, Class of 1987, in Boone, NC. She moved to Sarasota, FL to be near her grandmother Pauline. She studied Art and Music at Florida State College in 1989. In 1996, she moved to Asheville. She studied Herbalist Certification in NC.  In 2009, she graduated with honors with a degree in Anthropology/Psychology at Buncome/Tech in Asheville, NC.

We would like to thank the Hospice Care nurses and volunteers for the round the clock care given to Grace at the center. Now she is free from cancer after two years.

The family plans a private memorial service in early fall at the request of her daughter.
