Eloise Couch Buchanan

Eloise Couch Buchanan passed away peacefully on September 16, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on July 21, 1943, in St. Paul, Virginia, to the late Dule Couch and Edith Wilson Couch.

Eloise was the beloved wife of Frank Eldon Buchanan Jr. for 65 wonderful years, and a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all whose lives she touched.

Throughout her life, Eloise found joy in many interests. She loved collecting swans and creating crafts of all kinds. She enjoyed crocheting, sewing, painting, working with flowers, baking, and much more. She will be remembered as a smart, bold, and feisty woman whose spirit left a lasting impression on everyone around her.

She is survived by her husband, Frank Eldon Buchanan Jr.; her son, Timothy Wayne Buchanan and his partner, Yvonne Marie Tober; her grandchildren, Tanya Buchanan Mussetter and Shandi Leigh Pope (Christopher Lee Pope); her great-grandchildren, Damien Michael Mussetter, Brayden Paul Mussetter (and their father Jason), and Syera Jace Winebarger; her brothers, Donald Couch and Roger Couch; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Eloise was preceded in death by her son, Paul Edward Buchanan, and her brothers, Billy Joe Couch and Patrick Couch.

Her family will forever remember Eloise for the love she shared, the memories she created, and the lasting impact she had on those around her.

A Graveside Service will be held September 21, 2026, at 2:00 PM at Temple Hill Memorial Park in Castlewood, Virgina. Located at 2529 Memorial Dr, Castlewood, VA 24224.
