Brittany Berry Obituary

Brittany Dawn Moose Berry, beloved daughter, wife, mother, sister, and friend, passed
peacefully into the arms of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Tuesday, May 20th,
2025, at 7:45 a.m. after a courageous multi-year battle with cancer. Though the illness
took her life, it never tarnished her soul.
Brittany was born to Richard and Janice Moose in Statesville, North Carolina. She spent
most of her childhood in Boone, North Carolina, before moving to Triplett at the age of
19, following her marriage to the love of her life, Terran Berry.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Terran, and her cherished children: Cody
Hampton (28), Christina Hampton (26), Jasper Olblu Berry (15), Olivergil Boo Berry
(13), Boyzen Bang Berry (10), Illigold Enraz Berry (8), and Mountaintop Huckle Berry
(5). Brittany was a mother through both adoption and birth, and she loved each of her
children with fierce and tender devotion. She is survived by her mother, Janice Moose;
her brothers, Derrick and Channing Moose; her sister, Dechari Cole. She is also survived
by her Father and Mother-in-law Doug and Billana Berry, their daughter Tierra Stark;
and many extended family members and friends deeply touched by her light.
From an early age, Brittany displayed a strong work ethic, receiving special permission
to work before turning 15. She faithfully walked across town to Back Yard Burgers,
saving every dollar she earned for a year. She was particularly fond of the Hawaiian
Chicken Sandwich; of course, that may have been me (her husband), but she would
have been the one to correct me on that memory. I often would forget things and, on
more than one occasion, describe a movie I had seen that I thought she might like, only
for her to tell me that she bought us the tickets and sat beside me when I watched it...
oops. With the help of her brother in car selection and her own money, she bought her
first car, a Geo Prism, which became the vehicle for many adventures. Brittany was
determined and always generous.
Brittany and Terran first met as children at Trinity Baptist Church. She stood out in a
crowd, even at a distance, with her breath-stealing glances and a smile that warmed
rooms. Most people who encountered it fell in love with her heart, and oh, how lucky
each of us is to have seen it. Her heart made her unforgettable to all who knew her.
With unmatched dedication, Brittany saved for a year, amounting to around $8,000.
With that money, she made the down payment on their forever home, drilled a 650-foot
well, paid for the wedding fully, and funded a three-day Royal Caribbean honeymoon
cruise. That’s a thrifty gal, goodness gracious.

She treasured her family and delighted in the simple joys of life—Friday night movies,
cold plunges in Elk Creek, and enjoying their property. Brittany loved her Dad’s stories
and playing cards with her Mom. Brittany loved supporting her sister Dechari in all her
ministries. Brittany loved being active with her brother Channing, whether sledding or
playing pickleball. Brittany loved hearing about antiques and John Wayne-style cowboy
stuff with her brother Derrick. Brittany loved calls from her kind and quirky daughter,
Christina, to help her with adulting. Brittany loved Sunday visits with her handsome Son
Cody. Brittany loved all the subtle, sweet ways her son Jasper would protect her and
show kindness. Brittany loved her son Olivergil, who barged into her room every night
to hug her before bed. Brittany loved her tall, lanky Moose-blooded son Boyzen for his
desire to embrace her and his unabashed affection. Brittany loved that her daughter
Illigold had no fear of sharing her gift of creative expression and prayers that could
move mountains. Brittany loved that each morning, her ultimate wakeup alarm was the
astoundingly powerful hugs of her son Mountaintop, who can make the most tense
moment melt into laughter.
Brittany still loves all of these things and so many more unmentioned.
Brittany’s faith was the foundation of her life. She loved Jesus deeply and shared His
love with all she met, often turning hardships into testimonies and praise. Her most
significant accomplishments were raising a God-loving family and ministering to those in
need with humility, grace, and unshakable faith.
Though words can never fully capture the life and legacy of Brittany Dawn Moose Berry,
we remember her with profound gratitude and deep love.
