Christopher Lee Yates, age 46, of Green Briar Road, Boone, died Thursday evening, January 14, 2010 at his home. Chris was born December 15, 1963 in Hyattsville, Maryland but had spent most of his life in Watauga County. He received his education in the Watauga County School system and at Haywood Technical Institute. He enjoyed landscaping, tinkering with his automobiles and his music.
Chris is survived by; his father, Richard Clay Yates of the home and his mother, Doris Triplett Yates of Boone; one sister, Kim Yates Vallini and husband, Neil, of West Jefferson; four brothers, David Yates of Florida, Gary Yates of Boone, Jeff Yates of Oak Island, and Tony Triplett and wife Karen of Fin Castle, Virginia; three nieces, Lindsey Yates Tester and husband, Brian, of Blowing Rock, Emily Yates of Boone, and Madalyn Yates of Florida; one nephew, Corbin Vallini of West Jefferson; and his special friend, Carla S. Greene of Salisbury. A number of aunts, uncles and cousins also survive.
Services for Christopher Lee Yates will be private.
